TESTIMONIALS AND AWARDS
Susann Thiel, who became president and principal owner of Arete Communications in the spring of 2004, has won numerous national and regional awards for her work, including an award for promotional brochure design from the Communications Association of the Southern Tier in 2005.
As a member of the Binghamton University (State University of New York) Office of Communications and Marketing, Thiel won awards from:
- the National Admissions Marketing Association (2002-04);
- Council for Support and Advancement of Education (2001-04);
- State University of New York (SUNY) Confederation of Alumni Associations (2001);
- SUNY Council for University Affairs and Development (SUNY/CUAD) (2003-04); and
- the Communications Association of the Southern Tier (2002-04).
At Foxwoods Resort Casino, Thiel's television production work was recognized with a Telly Award (1999), and her print and video work garnered the International Association of Business Communicators' Connecticut Chapter Bronze Quill Award of Excellence for External Communications (1998).
As a journalist, Thiel received an award from the New England Associated Press News Executive Association for best spot news coverage and several Best of Gannett awards from the Gannett Corporation (1989-93).
